HISTORY

LakePointe Subdivision was established on January 31, 2000 when developers Robert S. Austin and Cordell Castette completed legal filings with the parish of Lafayette outlining the border of the property at the end of Nezida Street.  Just prior to that time, the LakePointe Subdivision Homeowners Association, Inc. was also formed as a nonprofit corporation and Articles of Incorporation were filed with the LA Secretary of State on January 24, 2000.  Mr. Austin and Mr. Castette served as the initial board of directors and established and adopted the Rules and Regulation and Restrictive Covenants which govern our neighborhood.  These documents remain on file with the Clerk of Court in Lafayette Parish, Lafayette, LA.  In 2002, a new board of directors comprised of homeowners of the subdivision took over the duties from Mr. Austin and Castette.

The first homes were built in 2000 and were at 108 Clear Lake Drive and 205 Clear Lake Drive. To date, homes have been built on 102 of the 103 original lots.
